When I started Pawraana, I knew I didn’t want to be just another "faceless" brand. I didn’t want to place orders with a massive factory through a computer screen and simply hope for the best.
I wanted to look into the eyes of the people making our bags and nightwear. I wanted to see the looms, smell the cotton, and understand the lives of the people whose skill makes this brand possible. So, I went to India. And what I found there changed everything.
Small Business Supporting Small Business
In an industry dominated by massive factories and high-speed machinery, our production home is a breath of fresh air. We don’t work with a corporate giant; we work with a dedicated, small-scale workshop of just 15 master artisans.
These aren't "factory workers"—they are artists. Many of them have decades of experience, passing down weaving and tailoring techniques through generations. When you hold a Pawraana tote or slip into our recycled cotton nightwear, you aren't feeling a mass-produced item. You are feeling the work of a master weaver who knows exactly how to handle 100% recycled cotton to ensure it is durable, soft, and sustainable.
A Taste of Scotland in India
I didn’t want to arrive empty-handed, so I brought a little piece of the North East with me. Watching the team try traditional Scottish tablet and shortbread for the first time was a true highlight of the trip.
There were plenty of smiles, but it was a beautiful moment of connection. It served as a sweet reminder that while we are thousands of miles apart, we are one small team working toward the same goal.
The Taj Mahal Connection
In return, I was moved by their incredible hospitality. They presented me with traditional Indian gifts, including a stunning trinket box crafted from the same marble used in the Taj Mahal.
To me, that box represents so much more than a souvenir. It is a symbol of the craft, the history, and the deep mutual respect that sits at the heart of Pawraana. It’s a reminder that we aren't just a supply chain; we are a partnership built on friendship.
Why "15 People" Matters
By choosing to work with such a small team, we ensure dignity and detail. I’ve personally met each person in that workshop. I’ve seen the pride they take in their work and the fair, safe, and respectful environment they work in.
Mass production often means "good enough," but small-scale production means perfection. Because we only make small batches, the attention to detail is far superior to anything you’ll find on the high street.
The Cycle of Kindness
Your purchase doesn't just provide a fair living for these 15 artisans; it also fuels our mission to protect the street dogs of India. It’s a complete cycle. From the hands that weave the cotton to the paws of the dogs we feed—you are part of something much bigger than a shopping transaction.
Thank you for supporting slow fashion, small businesses, and the 15 pairs of hands behind every Pawraana product.
